History for Primary Schools is a new course of six books written to satisfy the requirements of the newly introduced and independent History Curriculum for Basic Education, which was recently disarticulated from the Social Studies curriculum of the revised Basic Education Curriculum (BEC), provided by the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC). Each book is written to offer the best in teaching performance, the best learning outcome, and the attainment of set goals, in line with the National Council on Education (NCE) approved document on Education for Change: A Ministerial Strategic Plan, and in consonance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the National Economic Empowerment and Development Strategies (NEEDS).
