In the 21st century technology, computer education has become an integral part of our everyday life, and computer literacy is the order of the day. This has brought to the forefront the need to initiate the basic learner to the awareness of information and communication technology and its various component parts at an early age. Exploring ICT for Primary Schools is written to introduce young learners to the fundamental knowledge of information and communication technology (ICT). It is specifically written towards achieving the educational objectives of the new Universal Basic Education (UBE) curriculum approved by the Federal Ministry of Education. A journey through this series will expose the pupils to a range of well-structured learning experiences at every stage of all operations. The series is divided into two themes: Basic computer operations and Basic concepts of IT. Each theme is further divided into several topics. Structurally, each topic has specific objectives, introduction, units, activities, revision exercises, what we have learnt (summary) and multiple choice questions. This series will serve as good teaching materials for teachers, and meet the needs of examination bodies and other educational institutions. The series will also help pupils acquire fundamental knowledge of ICT and its operations, as well as effectively prepare them for both internal and external examinations.
